Absentee Voting

Due to the passage of statewide ballot proposal 18-3 in November 2018, all eligible and registered voters in Michigan may now request an absent voter ballot for any election without providing a reason.

Casnovia Township Clerk’s Office maintains a Permanent Absent Voter List, which entitles a voter to receive an Absent Voter Ballot Application automatically for each election, mailed approximately two months prior to every election scheduled in the Township.
Please note–this does not mean that the Clerk’s office will automatically issue an absentee BALLOT. It will allow our Clerk to send you an application. Voters who wish to vote absentee must complete and return the application and a ballot will be mailed out. Voters who wish to vote in person can disregard the application and go to the polling location to vote on Election Day.

If you are interested in voting absentee in the May 2024 election, and have not yet submitted your absent voter ballot application, you can apply  online by clicking here.

Your information will automatically be entered into the Casnovia Clerk’s database and a ballot will be mailed out to you.

Absentee Ballots can be returned several ways

  • Mail your ballot to the Township Clerk – 245 S. Canada Road, Casnovia, MI 493118
  • Drop your ballot off to the Township Hall anytime during normal business hours
  • Place your ballot in the secure dropbox located on the south side of the Township Hall. Dropbox is available 24/7
